Hello everyone! ^^ How was your weekend?

Here is my latest Inktober sketch- the Babel fish 😀

The Babel fish is small yellow and leech-like, and probably the oddest thing in the Universe. It feeds on brainwave energy received not from its own carrier, but from those around it. It absorbs all unconscious mental frequencies from this brainwave energy to nourish itself with. It then excretes into the mind of its carrier a telepathic matrix formed by combining the unconscious thought frequencies with nerve signals picked up from the speech centres of the brain which has supplied them.

The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy-read the full excerpt about the Babel fish here

The Babel fish is one of the more iconic creatures from the Hitchhiker’s guide, even though it appears very shortly. It allows you to understand any form of language! What’s more, it is used to prove the existence and non-existence of God in the story in a rather funny way.

I got stuck with Inktober, the word swollen simply didn’t give me any ideas, especially nothing connected to the Hitchhiker’s guide, so I decided finally to skip it and move on 🙂 I’d love to hear any suggestions. I’ll complete this page with prompts that fit the theme the most.

Meanwhile I’m starting the next page of Inktober, which will be based on Harry Clarke’s art style- lot’s of tiny decorative details. I recommend checking him out, he was a book illustrator in 20th century. I’ll try to combine the leftover Inktober themes into one big drawing. I’m doing a big pencil sketch first, which I’ll show you guys tomorrow, so stay tuned! <3
